How to: Modify Microsoft Project Custom Task Field Assignment in EasyTaskLink
Custom Task Fields are called User extension fields in EasyTaskLink and they allow the users to add custom information to their task detail. The mapping process allows this information to be shared with the team members via their Outlook task.
Method I (From Project Center)
1. From the Project Center select Utility…Outlook Task Fields Mapping. The Task Fields Assignment screen is displayed.
2. Using the Add and Remove buttons will allow you to add or delete fields.
3. The Move Up and Move Down buttons will allow you to resort the order of the fields to be carried with task assignment in the project.
4. Click the OK button to save the setting and return to the Project Center.
Note: The predefine MSP Custom Task Fields are selected during publishing MPP into EasyTaskLink database. To add additional available fields that are not already in the list please following the instructions in Method II below.
Method II (From Microsoft Project Plan)
1. From Microsoft Project Plan in the EasyTaskLink drop down menu select Administrative...MSP Custom Fields Mapping buttons. The Mapping MSP fields screen is displayed.
2. The fields in the left hand side of the screen are the available fields. To include the Custom Fields in the tasks highlight the Custom Field then click the Add button.
3. Click the check box next to the Custom Fields will add the fields with the tasks. You are able to map up to 20 fields from MS Project to EasyTaskLink. This is the total number of fields for all projects. These fields will be carried within the task details as Custom Extension Fields.
4. Click the OK button to return to the Project Plan.
