Status reporting is an essential part of managing a successful project. If you find that it is time consuming to manage the collection, organization and review of status reports then you will find EasyTaskLink a powerful time saving tool. The project manager decides how often status reports are to be filed and communicates this with the team. The project manager also assigns tasks to their team members. The team member receives their task in their Outlook Tasks Folder. If an assignee fails to file their status report Project Manager can setup email notification to remind them.
For those using Microsoft Project the process is completed when the project manager opens their project plan, the status update is done automatically. This process accomplishes several things:
· A detailed log of the status of the individual task with easy retrieval if there is a problem with the task.
· The project is updated in EasyTaskLink.
· The MPP file is updated with the new status information.
Status Reports can be run which helps the project manager better understand the status of their project.
