User interface has been simplified to make the system as effortless to learn and use as possible. Behind this simple facade lies a very powerful knowledge base which is gathering and organizing your information to provide you with the information you need when you need it.
There are three ways to access and manage the EasyTaskLink Task Database:
1. The Project Center Screen – On the top of the screen view all your projects along with information which is pertinent to the Project completion, % Complete, for instance. The Project Center screen is customizable so you view project statistics which are relevant to you. This is particularly significant to Microsoft Project users because you are able to view fields from your project level task.
The bottom half of the screen shows tasks assigned to you for the project highlighted in the top half, or they can view a complete list of tasks on all projects. There is a Switch Assignee button which allows you to view the tasks assigned to each of your team members.
Down the right hand side of the Project Center are the buttons which access the other EasyTaskLink screens and functions.
2. Microsoft Outlook Interface – The Project Manager can view their tasks, Project tasks and the Document Library from within Outlook. They can also easily access the task detail from their Outlook Tasks folder.
3. Microsoft Project Interface – The Project team or schedulers who create and maintain the project plans and assign resources using Microsoft Project can continue to use their project plans. Planning and resource management functions are still maintained using Microsoft Project MPP files. Task level detail, project document library, collaboration, status reporting and extensive Executive Dashboard into the project are kept in the task database.
Once the Project Manager Publishes the project plan a task detail is created for each task in the plan and stored within the EasyTaskLink database. The task detail may be accessed directly from the Project plan. From within the MPP file, the Project Manager can Send Task to TM's Outlook and the tasks will be sent to the team member via Outlook tasks. The team member can then file their status reports directly from the task in their Outlook Tasks folder and the database is updated automatically. The PM can view which status reports have been filed by viewing the Status Report Queue in Microsoft Project. The project plan is updated as soon as the Project Manager clicks the Update button. .
