EasyTaskLink integrates task data tracking with Microsoft Project and Outlook. With EasyTaskLink the Project Manager views the overall project schedule, allocates resources and monitors progress via a Microsoft Project as before. When a resource is allocated, task information such as start/end date and title are sent to the assigned team member's Outlook Tasks Folder. As work is being done the team updates the percent completed, hours spent and a description of the task progress using Outlook. Project Managers can view the overall plan with the updated task status and progress via the project plan using Microsoft Project.
With this architecture, both the Project Manager and Team Members use the familiar interface to update and access the pertinent information in real time. The Project Manager can proactively find out the status of a task without prompting or waiting for the periodic reporting cycle.
